Clinical Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is an increasingly popular and medically accepted form of complementary therapy. Medical students at Cambridge University and other medical training centres now receive training in hypnosis as part of their studies.

Through hypnosis, you can:

  • Become a non-smoker in one session (click to read more).
  • Release weight and stay slim.
  • Release stress and its negative effects.
  • Remove phobias.
  • Eliminate anxiety and panic attacks.
  • Improve performance.
  • Relieve poor sleep patterns.
  • Take control of your moods.
  • Feel more optimistic about life.
  • Improve your physical health.
  • Build your confidence and self-esteem.

You may not be aware that the root causes of most issues reside in the subconscious mind – the part that controls both good and bad behaviours and habits, as well as moods, addictions and phobias. My unique programme of hypnotherapy, NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Therapy) effectively and rapidly helps your subconscious mind re-assess long-standing values and perceptions. It safely allows healthy and positive change to take place at a comfortable pace for you.

Hypnotherapy: Some Myths Explained

Many people form their opinion of hypnosis from stage shows or the media, but remember, watching films or the TV does not always give you the correct view of reality!

Watching television, driving and reading are all activities where you often enter levels of hypnosis (i.e. a light trance) similar to those used in therapy.

In a hypnosis session:

  • You don't go to sleep.
  • You are not unconscious.
  • You do hear what is said.
  • You are free to open your eyes at any time.

Other myths include:

“The hypnotherapist can control you” - your normal freewill and moral standards apply during hypnosis. You cannot do anything that is against your beliefs and you are never out of control.

“You can get stuck in hypnosis” – you can easily return to a normal alert state at any point. You experience a deeply relaxed state whilst remaining fully aware at all times.

"A hypnotist can put you in a trance without your consent" - Hypnotherapy is a partnership of trust between the client and the therapist. You need a good relationship or rapport to feel comfortable enough to go into a hypnotic state.

"I can't be hypnotised" - You go in and out of hypnotic states during everyday life, such as daydreaming, getting absorbed in a good book, watching television or films and even driving. If you've ever bought a product because of the advertising you may well have ben influenced at a hypnotic level.

"Hypnosis involves re-programming the mind, like brainwashing" - Brainwashing is a negative psychological technique totally different from hypnosis. Hypnotherapists help the client reach a position where they are able to re-evaluate their decisions and opinions using both the conscious and subconscious parts of the mind. Whether change happens ultimately depends on the client.

Smoking Cessation:

You can Stop Smoking......

You can benefit from a special technique to ensure rapid, safe, effective long lasting transition from smoking to non-smoking.

Hypnosis Works

And it is most definitely true that hypnotherapy can safely and rapidly help you stop smoking without cravings, fears, stress, drugs and gimmicks, placebos and this can usually be done in one session.

What most doctors and smoking cessation hypnotherapists don’t tell you...!

Most people mistakenly believe that the smoking habit is the same for everybody and this is what makes it so difficult for many people to stop with ‘will power’ and even many types of smoking cessation therapy.

However, a significant number of smokers in this stressful world have their habit linked to underlying problems such as breathing, stress and panic triggers, and even emotional problems such as depression, loneliness, feeling out of control, lack of confidence and fear. These people may require up to three hypnosis sessions over a one month period to handle the underlying problem.

Important questions to ask yourself to find out whether you will need a single or multi session approach.

Your honestly answering the following questions should determine whether you will need to come in for one session or more. Most people do stop after one session, but some people need additional help to deal with certain issues which may have become related to the smoking habit.

Do I breathe through my mouth or have breathing problems?

Have I had panic attacks?

Do I need to smoke to reduce anxiety, stress and panic?

Have I ever bitten my nails?

Have I ever taken drugs or substances including alcohol and food for which smoking is a substitute?

Do I smoke only at certain times of day or In certain environments?

Does smoking help me alter my mood or improve confidence

If you answer yes to any of the above questions, It is likely that you would benefit from our multi-session approach to stopping smoking.

Why People Don't Stop Smoking?

Most people know that by stopping they will save several thousand pounds a year. Most people know that they could add years to their life and most people know that if they stop smoking right now, they could save their health - before it's too late.

So, why do people continue to smoke?

Experience gained from the USA and the UK means that the answer is the same all over the world. It all comes down to one thing. . . FEAR.

» Fear that you'll have to give up your crutch or pleasure
» Fear that you won't be able to enjoy life or handle stress
» Fear that you will put on weight
» Fear that you'll have to go through an awful trauma to get free
» Fear that you'll never get completely free of the craving

All of these fears are just examples of one overriding fear. The one simple reason that you have not stopped smoking is that you: Fear that it is going to be too painful and too difficult!

Hypnosis Makes It Easier!

In fact, my unique hypnosis technique makes it so easy that after your hypnosis program you'll leave a happy non-smoker - not feeling deprived, not feeling that you've made a sacrifice, and not feeling any pain.

Instead, you'll have a huge sense of relief and elation that you have at last achieved what all smokers long to achieve, you have become a happy, permanent, non-smoker. When smokers try to stop with other methods they often suffer misery and depression caused by the feeling that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch. The beauty of hypnosis, and the way I use hypnosis in particular, is that it can remove the need and the desire to smoke. You won't need useless aids, gimmicks, or substitutes. No nicotine gum or patches. No inhalers or nasal sprays. No needles or lasers. All that you have to do with hypnosis is sit back in a nice comfortable chair, and relax. It doesn't get much easier than that!

Since the American Medical Association (AMA) approved the use of clinical hypnosis in the 1950's, and since the British Medical Association (BMA) reported their approval of hypnosis in 1953 for specific conditions (Psychoneuroses & Hypnoanaesthesia) thousands of people have found hypnosis to be an effective way to stop smoking, lose weight, and otherwise improve their lives. Of course, there are varying degrees of success with hypnosis because much depends upon the skill, experience, and general competence of the individual hypnotherapists - as well as the techniques being used by them.

The beauty of my unique approach is that I use the best of traditional hypnotherapy techniques and combine them with the science of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Emotional freedom Technique, which takes hypnosis to an even greater level of effectiveness.

One of the reasons why it's not painful or difficult to stop smoking with my method, in fact one of the reasons why it is so easy, is that I transfer the pleasure derived from smoking to a healthier habit of your choice (e.g. exercise, drinking more water, or relaxation). This is the reason why, with me, there is NO unwanted weight gain or other problems associated with kicking the habit - the only side-effects are an increase in health, wealth, and freedom.
